ABSTRACT: The 1,10-phenanthroline-chelated Co(II) atom in the polymeric title compound, {[Co(C(7)H(4)O(6)S)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)]·1.5H(2)O}(n), is connected to the sulfonate O atom of one 4-hy-droxy-3-sulfonato-benzoate dianion and to the carboxyl-ate O atom of another dianion. It is also coordinated by two water mol-ecules in a trans-CoN(2)O(4) octa-hedral environment. The dianion links adjacent metal atoms into a chain running along [110]. The chains are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The imino-diacetate dianion in the title compound, [Zn(C(4)H(5)NO(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·1.5H(2)O, chelates to the Zn(II) center with its N and two O atoms. The metal atom is also chelated by the N-heterocycle and coordinated by one water molecule, leading to a distorted octahedral environment. The dianion, and coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules inter-act through O-H?O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network. One of the two uncoordinated water mol-ecules has half-site occupancy. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin with a 15% twin component.

Project description:In the title complex, [Mn(C(8)H(4)O(7)S)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Mn(II) atom is chelated by one 4-carb-oxy-2-sulfonato-benzoate anion and two phenathroline (phen) ligands in a distorted octa-hedral MnN(4)O(2) geometry. The benzene ring of the 4-carb-oxy-2-sulfonato-benzoate anion is twisted with respect to the two phen ring systems at dihedral angles of 66.38?(9) and 53.56?(9)°. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonding links the mol-ecules into chains running parallel to [100]. Inter-molecular ?-? stacking is also observed between parallel phen ring systems, the face-to-face distance being 3.432?(6)?Å.

Project description:In the title complex, [Zn(C(6)H(3)N(3)O(3)S)(C(12)H(8)N(2))](n), the Zn(2+) cation is coordinated by two N atoms from two 4-sulfonato-benzotriazolide dianions, two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecule and a sulfonate O atom from a 4-sulfonato-benzotriazolide anion, displaying a distorted ZnN(4)O trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. Each 1,10-phenanthroline ligand displays a bidentate chelating coordinating mode and the 4-sulfonato-benzotriazolide ions act as ?(2)-bridges, linking different Zn(2+) cations into a chain along the b axis. The crystal structure is consolidated by C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, [Pb?(C?H?O?S)?(C??H?N?)?(H?O)?]·CH?COOH, the seven-coordinate Pb(II) atom is chelated by two N atoms of one 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, four O atoms from three 5-sulfosalicylate dianions and one water O atom. Each dianion serves as a bridging ligand, connecting adjacent Pb(II) atoms into a centrosymmetric polymeric chain extending parallel to [001]. There are ?-? inter-actions between the aromatic systems of neighbouring dianions, with plane-to-plane distances of 3.371?(2)?Å, and between phenanthroline ligands, with a centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.484?(2)?Å. O-H?O hydrogen bonding additionally stabilizes the crystal packing. The acetic acid mol-ecules are incorporated in the voids of this arrangement. They exhibit half-occupancy due to disorder around a centre of inversion.

One water O atom lies on a twofold rotation axis. The organic mol-ecules and water mol-ecules are linked via N-H?O, O-H?N and O-H?O hydrogen bonds. Weak inter-molecular C-H?N hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions between inversion-related phenanthroline rings complete the three-dimensional hydrogen-bonding network in the crystal structure. The stacking distance is short at 3.513?(2)?Å and the perpendicular distance between the rings is 3.355?Å. Project description:The title coordination polymer, {[Zn(H(2)O)(6)](0.5)[Zn(C(8)H(3)O(7)S)(C(5)H(6)N(6))]·1.5H(2)O}(n), synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions, possesses a one-dimensional tube-like chain structure along [100], with octahedral [Zn(H(2)O)(6)](2+) groups ([Formula: see text] symmetry) trapped in the pores. The other Zn atom is five-coordinated in a highly distorted trigonal-biyramidal coordin-ation that is defined by two different N atoms from two 1,3-bis-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)methane (btrm) ligands and three carboxyl-ate O atoms from 5-sulfonato-benzene-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate ligands. The chains carry negative charges, whereas the free [Zn(H(2)O)(6)](2+) cations are positively charged. The [Zn(H(2)O)(6)](2+) cation is connected with the one-dimensional tubelike chain through weak classical O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions as well as through electrostatic inter-actions. One of the two uncoordinated water molecules exhibits half-occupancy.

Project description:There are two formula units in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(21)H(17)N(5)·1.5H(2)O. The imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phen-an-throline unit is almost coplanar with the benzene ring, the dihedral angles between them being 8.91?(5) and 4.93?(6)° in the two mol-ecules. The crystal structure is stabilized by a series of hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecules and the N atoms of the imidazophenanthroline groups.

Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(C(7)H(4)BrO(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)](C(7)H(4)BrO(2))·1.5H(2)O, the Zn(II) atom is coordinated by four N atoms from two chelating 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands, one O atom from a 4-bromo-benzoate ligand and one water mol-ecule, completing a distorted ZnN(4)O(2) octa-hedral geometry. The two phen ligands exhibit nearly perfect coplanarity (r.m.s. deviations = 0.027 and 0.031?Å), making a dihedral angle of 85.7?(1)°. The mean inter-planar distances of 3.36?(2) and 3.41?(3)?Å between adjacent phen ligands indicate ?-? stacking inter-actions. The uncoordinated water mol-ecules are partly occupied. One carboxyl-ate O atom and two Br atoms are each disordered over two sites, with occupancy factors of 0.60 and 0.40. In the crystal structure, O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions link the complex cations, uncoordinated 4-bromo-benzoate anions and water mol-ecules into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network. An intra-molecular O-H?·O hydrogen bond is observed in the cation.
