Both tissues were kept for 24 hours at 4°C in an RNA-stabilization solution (Ambion RNAlater; Life Technologies). Following the removal of the RNA-stabilization solution, the samples were stored at -80°C until the extraction of RNA.</sample_protocol><sample_protocol>Library Construction - Following the acquisition of RNA, the cDNA libraries were constructed using the UltraTM RNA Library Prep Kit (NEBNext®) by Novogene (Cambridge, United Kingdom). A minimum of 0.8 μg of RNA per sample was used to prepare a total of 16 stranded paired-end libraries.</sample_protocol><sample_protocol>Growth Protocol - These lambs were reared at the commercial flock of the Instituto Ganadero de Montaña (IGM; Grulleros, León, Castile and León, Spain). All were male lambs born in the same lambing season (January-February 2020). The lambs were reared under the same management and feeding conditions. After birth and receiving the colostrum from their dams, lambs were fed ad libitum with a milk replacer (Ovilac 60; Calfvet®). The animals were sacrificed once they reached a body weight between 10 and 12.5 kg in vivo weight, and a maximum age of 35 days.</sample_protocol><sample_protocol>Nucleic Acid Extraction - RNA extraction was carried out for the chosen samples using the miRNeasy Mini Kit from Qiagen® adjusted for use with adipose tissue. Using an Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer (Agilent Technologies) to evaluate the RNA integrity value of the samples, values greater than 7.2 were obtained for every sample.</sample_protocol><figure_sub>Organization</figure_sub><figure_sub>MINSEQE Score</figure_sub><figure_sub>Assays and Data</figure_sub><figure_sub>MAGE-TAB Files</figure_sub><omics_type>Metabolomics</omics_type><omics_type>Unknown</omics_type><omics_type>Transcriptomics</omics_type><omics_type>Genomics</omics_type><omics_type>Proteomics</omics_type><instrument_platform>miRNeasy Mini Kit from Qiagen®</instrument_platform><instrument_platform>UltraTM RNA Library Prep Kit (NEBNext®)</instrument_platform><instrument_platform>Illumina NovaSeq 6000</instrument_platform><instrument_platform>-</instrument_platform><study_type>RNA-seq of coding RNA</study_type><species>Ovis aries</species><pubmed_title> Early functional divergence of adipose tissue depots in lambs: evidence from RNA-Seq and deconvolution analyses</pubmed_title><pubmed_authors>M.
