To date, several patch materials have been applied with no agreed upon clinical standard. Each patch type has unique performance characteristics, cost, and availability. There are limited data describing the various advantages and disadvantages of different patch materials. We performed a review of studies describing the clinical performance of various RVOT and PA patch materials and found a limited but growing body of literature. Short-term clinical performance has been reported for a multitude of patch types, but comparisons are limited by inconsistent study design and scarce histolog</pubmed_abstract><journal>Pediatric cardiology</journal><pubmed_title>Patch Materials for Pulmonary Artery Arterioplasty and Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Augmentation: A Review.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC10224813</pmcid><funding_grant_id>W81XWH-22-1-0597</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>UH3HL148693</funding_grant_id><pubmed_authors>Breuer CK</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Emmert MY</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Shinoka T</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Carrillo SA</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Kelly JM</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Hoerstrup S</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Hor KK</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Jimenez M</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Yates AR</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Armstrong AK</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Salavitabar A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Schwartzman WE</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable><name>Patch Materials for Pulmonary Artery Arterioplasty and Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Augmentation: A Review.</name><description>Patch augmentation of the right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) and pulmonary artery (PA) arterioplasty are relatively common procedures in the surgical treatment of patients with congenital heart disease.
