Critical disease was defined as an invasive mechanical ventilation requirement, intensive care unit admission, or death. Random effects models were used to estimate pooled odds ratios (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI), and heterogeneity was explored through subgroup analyses.
Results
Among 10</pubmed_abstract><journal>medRxiv : the preprint server for health sciences</journal><pagination>2024.01.17.24301452</pagination><full_dataset_link>https://www.ebi.ac.uk/biostudies/studies/S-EPMC10827273</full_dataset_link><repository>biostudies-literature</repository><pubmed_title>Risk Factors for Pediatric Critical COVID-19: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC10827273</pmcid><funding_grant_id>R01 AI123204</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>OT2 HL161847</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>TL1 TR001864</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>K23 AI159518</funding_grant_id><pubmed_authors>Bio LL</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>James SH</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Maron GM</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Anosike BI</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Nakamura MM</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Oliveira CR</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Willis ZI</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Little C</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Wolf J</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Sue PK</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Miller C</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Singh P</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Aparicio C</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable>

Background
Risk stratification is a cornerstone of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society COVID-19 treatment guidance.
