Currently, there are no commercial cultivars available with resistance to M. incognita in cucumber. However, the African horned melon (Cucumis metuliferus Naud.), a semi-wild relative of cucumber, has shown high resistance to M. incognita. In this study, we constructed an ultrahigh-density genetic linkage bin-map using low-coverage sequences from an F2 population generated through the cross between C. metuliferus inbred lines CM3 and CM27.
