We report herein a gonadal stromal (granulosa cell) tumor in an ovotestis of a 15-month-old heifer from which the reproductive tract was obtained from a local slaughterhouse. Histopathological evaluation revealed that the gonads were ovotestis, but also a coincidental sex cordstromal (granulosa cell) tumor. The sex chromosome type was determined to be XX, suggesting an XX ovotesticular disorder of sexual development with uterus and a female phenotype. Key clinical message: Disorders of sexual development are common in mammals. Gonadal tumors in disorders of sexual development are rarely reported and have not been reported in cows.</pubmed_abstract><journal>The Canadian veterinary journal = La revue veterinaire canadienne</journal><pagination>1141-1148</pagination><full_dataset_link>https://www.ebi.ac.uk/biostudies/studies/S-EPMC11486109</full_dataset_link><repository>biostudies-literature</repository><pubmed_title>Sex cord-stromal (granulosa cell) tumor in an ovotestis from a cow.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC11486109</pmcid><pubmed_authors>Beaudoin G</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Boyer A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Zamberlam G</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Charreton-Sanford V</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Pesant MJ</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Gagnon CA</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>St-Jean G</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable><name>Sex cord-stromal (granulosa cell) tumor in an ovotestis from a cow.</name><description>Development of gonadal tumors within an ovotestis is rare in mammals and this disturbance was not reported in cows.
