Our research leverages data collected from fetal MRI scans, capturing the dynamic changes in the brain's architecture and microstructure during this critical period. The atlas includes 60 distinct white matter tracts, including commissural, projection, and association fibers. We employed advanced fetal dMRI processing techniques and tractography to map and characterize the developmental trajectories of these tracts. Our findings reveal that the development of these tracts is characterized by complex patterns of fractional anisotropy (FA) and mean diffusivity (MD), coinciding with the intensity of h</pubmed_abstract><journal>Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America</journal><pubmed_title>A detailed spatiotemporal atlas of the white matter tracts for the fetal brain.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC11725871</pmcid><funding_grant_id>R01EB018988 R01 EB032366</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>Support</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>R01 NS106030</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>S10 OD0250111</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>R01 EB013248</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>R01 EB018988</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>R01 LM013608</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>R01 HD110772</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>R01 EB032366</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>Career Development Award</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>Schoolarship</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>R01 NS128281</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>S10 OD025111</funding_grant_id><pubmed_authors>Calixto C</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Jaimes C</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Warfield SK</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Pierotich L</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Gholipour A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Dorigatti Soldatelli M</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Karimi D</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable><name>A detailed spatiotemporal atlas of the white matter tracts for the fetal brain.</name><description>This study presents the construction of a comprehensive spatiotemporal atlas of white matter tracts in the fetal brain for every gestational week between 23 and 36 wk using diffusion MRI (dMRI).
