Volume fusion of six sequential scans (each 500 × 500 A-scans over 6 mm × 6 mm) was performed in the motion correction and volume reconstruction in OCT (MoReOCT) framework to enhance feature visibility in OCT. The subjects were divided into three groups: young (21-40 years old), middle (41-60 years old), and older (>60 years old). Three expert graders assessed the visibility of the sub-band on B-scans, and its A-scan intensity relative to ELM intensity (pe</pubmed_abstract><journal>Translational vision science & technology</journal><pubmed_title>High-Resolution OCT Reveals Age-Associated Variation in the Region Posterior to the External Limiting Membrane.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC11741063</pmcid><funding_grant_id>R01 EY011289</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>R01 EY034080</funding_grant_id><pubmed_authors>Duker JS</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Jamil MU</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Fujimoto JG</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Kaiser S</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Waheed NK</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Ploner SB</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Desai S</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Abu-Qamar O</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Witkin AJ</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Yaghy A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Won J</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Takahashi H</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Maier A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Marmalidou A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Hwang Y</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Zhao PY</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable>

Purpose
To evaluate visibility of a sub-band posterior to the external limiting membrane (ELM) and assess its age-associated variation.
Methods
In a retrospective cross-sectional study, normal eyes were imaged using a high-resolution spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) prototype (2.7-µm axial resolution).
