Herein, likely the first examples of supramolecular assemblies of non-Ce(iv) tetravalent lanthanide complexes, with the general formula [Tb(OSiPh<sub>3</sub>)<sub>4</sub>L<i>x</i>] <sub><i>n</i></sub> [1 (<i>n</i> = 2, L1 = 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane); 2 (L2 = 4,4'-bipyridine), 3 (L3 = 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)acetylene), 4 (L4 = 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene), and 5 (L5 = 1,4-bis(4-pyridyl)benzene)], are reported. Cyclic voltammetry studies show two successive redox events, indicating electronic interactions between the two Tb(iv) centers in the dimeric metallomacrocycle 1.
