These compounds were designed with the aim of targeting cancer-related DNA G-quadruplex structures. The newly synthesized compounds were tested for their ability to bind G-quadruplexes from both telomeric and oncogene promoter sequences using an affinity chromatography-based assay, spectroscopic and electrophoretic techniques, as well as molecular docking analysis. The obtained results demonstrated the effective capacity of the investigated compounds to specifically recognize the selected G-quadruplex models, with their TT cores targeting the outer G-quartets and their positively charged N-methyl-p</pubmed_abstract><journal>Archiv der Pharmazie</journal><pagination>e70037</pagination><full_dataset_link>https://www.ebi.ac.uk/biostudies/studies/S-EPMC12223358</full_dataset_link><repository>biostudies-literature</repository><pubmed_title>Combining Cyclic Triimidazo Triazine Core With Ethynyl-N-Methyl-Pyridinium Groups for Targeting G-Quadruplex Structures.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC12223358</pmcid><pubmed_authors>Malpicci D</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Musumeci D</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Montesarchio D</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Di Ciolo S</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Giannini C</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Platella C</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Lucenti E</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Gaglione R</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Arciello A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Cariati E</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Criscuolo A</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable><name>Combining Cyclic Triimidazo Triazine Core With Ethynyl-N-Methyl-Pyridinium Groups for Targeting G-Quadruplex Structures.</name><description>The synthesis and characterization of a mini-library of cyclic triimidazo triazine (TT) derivatives functionalized with one, two, or three ethynyl-N-methyl-pyridinium moieties are reported here.
