This study evaluated the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of eugenol (EU) in its pure form, bis-eugenol (BIS), and clove essential oil (OE) at different concentrations (5, 10, and 25 μg/mL). Chemical analysis confirmed that OE contains a high proportion of eugenol (45-90%), with the presence of eugenol acetate differentiating it from pure eugenol, while bis-eugenol was successfully synthesized and characterized with a 97% yield. Antioxidant activity assessed by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assays showed that 25 μg/mL of each compound effectively neutralized free radicals and reduced fe</pubmed_abstract><journal>ACS omega</journal><pubmed_title>Antioxidant and Anti-inflammatory Activity of Eugenol, Bis-eugenol, and Clove Essential Oil: An In Vitro Study.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC12290672</pmcid><funding_grant_id>001</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>310413/2023-0</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>403194/2023-7</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>APQ-03519-22</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>306733/2023-4</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>APQ-04164-22</funding_grant_id><pubmed_authors>Maciel Dos Santos M</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>da Silva DA</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Teixeira RR</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>de Paula RA</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Pires Costa E</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Lopes RP</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Goncalves RV</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable><name>Antioxidant and Anti-inflammatory Activity of Eugenol, Bis-eugenol, and Clove Essential Oil: An In Vitro Study.</name><description>Different therapeutic approaches, particularly those involving plant-derived compounds, have been explored for treating inflammatory diseases.
