In the context of the 10-year fishing ban, it is imperative to elucidate the dynamics and assembly of fish communities in the Jialing River. In this study, field surveys were conducted during the flood and dry seasons from 2021 to 2025 at the Cangxi section of the Jialing River. Fifty fish species belonging to three orders and six families were collected in the study area, with <i>Chanodichthys oxycephaloides</i>, <i>Hemibarbus labeo</i>, <i>Xenocypris davidi</i>, and <i>Siniperca chuatsi</i> identified as dominant species.
