Although it is known that liver regeneration is delayed by aging, the effects of aging on changes in gene expression and metabolic functions in liver regeneration need further investigation. In this study, we comprehensively analyzed changes in gene expression and metabolic function by liver regeneration in young and old mice to examine the effects of aging on these changes. During the process of liver regeneration, the gene expression profiles of hepatocytes from young and old mice changed significantly in a stepwise manner while each remained close together. After the completion of liver regeneration, the genes with aging-specific expression patterns in old mouse hepatocytes changed to </pubmed_abstract><journal>Aging cell</journal><pubmed_title>Differential Effects of Liver Regeneration on Aging-Related Changes in Gene Expression and Metabolic Function.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC12507397</pmcid><funding_grant_id>JP19H05267</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>JP19H01177</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>JP22H04698</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>JP24fk0210116</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>JPMXP1323015486</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>JP22H00592</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>JP23K11851</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>JP25H00445</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>JP25fk0210170</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>JP24bm1123005</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>JP23K18579</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>JP25K03454</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>JP21K18039</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>JP22H05634</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>JP23K17199</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>JP18H05102</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>JP20H05040</funding_grant_id><pubmed_authors>Izumi Y</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Suzuki A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Murayama R</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Horisawa K</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Shu J</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Ishigami K</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Miura S</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Takahashi M</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Bamba T</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Taniguchi S</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable><name>Differential Effects of Liver Regeneration on Aging-Related Changes in Gene Expression and Metabolic Function.</name><description>Aging causes significant changes in gene expression and metabolic function of cells in various organs.
