The absolute configuration of dihydrosarsolenone (1) was determined by single-crystal X-ray difraction (SC-XRD) analysis for the first time in this study. The structure of sarsolenane 2 was established on the basis of spectroscopic analysis and further confirmed by SC-XRD analysis. One aspect of the stereochemistry of the known sarsolenanes 1 (dihydrosarsolenone) and methyl dihydrosarsolenoneate was revised.
