Here we show that the endogenous trans-acting (ta)siRNA pathway, which depends on Dicer-like (DCL) 4 and RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RDR) 6, is suppressed by infection of Arabidopsis with Cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV).
