Both cis and trans complexes of general structure (N)(N')Pd(II)(R)(F) (R = Ar or CH(3)) as well as cis-(N)(2)Pd(II)(F)(2) are reported. Crystallographic characterization of these molecules has allowed structural comparisons to related phosphine-ligated species. Furthermore, these studies have revealed that nitrogen-donor ligands support some of the longest and the shortest Pd-F bonds reported to date. The thermal decomposition of (N)(N')Pd(II)(R)(F) has also been examined, and no products of C-F bond-forming reductive elimination were obtained in any case.</pubmed_abstract><journal>Dalton transactions (Cambridge, England : 2003)</journal><pagination>632-40</pagination><full_dataset_link>https://www.ebi.ac.uk/biostudies/studies/S-EPMC2855696</full_dataset_link><repository>biostudies-literature</repository><pubmed_title>Synthesis and reactivity of palladium(II) fluoride complexes containing nitrogen-donor ligands.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC2855696</pmcid><funding_grant_id>F31 GM089141</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>R01 GM073836-05</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>R01-GM073836</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>F31-GM089141</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>F31 GM089141-01</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>R01 GM073836</funding_grant_id><pubmed_authors>Ball ND</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Sanford MS</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Kampf JW</pubmed_authors><view_count>54</view_count></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable><name>Synthesis and reactivity of palladium(II) fluoride complexes containing nitrogen-donor ligands.</name><description>This article describes the synthesis, characterization, and reactivity of palladium(II) fluoride complexes containing sp(2) and sp(3) nitrogen-containing supporting ligands.
