The method is efficient for both electron-deficient and -rich heterocycles. It exhibits high functional group tolerance and good regioselectivity. Fused heteroaromatic dihydrosiloles can be smoothly halogenated and then oxidized or arylated. Application of these transformations allows obtaining highly functionalized heteroaromatic structures.
