However, these studies have yielded contradictory results. Genetic association studies addressing this issue are frequently hampered by insufficient power. We therefore performed a meta-analysis of the published studies to clarify this inconsistency and to establish a comprehensive picture of the relationship between ACE I/D polymorphism and post-PTCA restenosis risk.
Methods
Databases including Pubmed, EMBASE, ISI Web of Science, EBSCO, Cochrane Library databases and CNKI w</pubmed_abstract><journal>PloS one</journal><pagination>e75285</pagination><full_dataset_link>https://www.ebi.ac.uk/biostudies/studies/S-EPMC3787085</full_dataset_link><repository>biostudies-literature</repository><pubmed_title>Genetic polymorphism of angiotensin converting enzyme and risk of coronary restenosis after percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasties: evidence from 33 cohort studies.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC3787085</pmcid><pubmed_authors>Li C</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Zhang J</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Wang S</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Chen L</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Dong Z</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Lin W</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Chen Y</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Zhong X</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Dai Y</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable>

Background
In the past decade, a number of cohort studies studies have been carried out to investigate the relationship between the insertion/deletion polymorphism of the gene encoding angiotensin-converting enzyme and risk of restenosis after percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasties in patients.
