We studied patients aged 60 and above, referred to the LVR Hospital in Paris. Neurological and cognitive evaluations were performed in an expert memory center. Thirty-eight individuals, 17 women and 21 men with a mean age of 70.3 ± 1.3 years and a mean visual acuity of 0.12 ± 0.02, were recruited over a one-year period. Sixty-three percent of participants had normal cognitive status. Cognitive impairment was diagnosed in 37.5% of participants. The COGEVIS score cutoff point to screen for cognitive impairment was 24 (maximum score of 30)</pubmed_abstract><journal>Behavioural neurology</journal><pagination>4295184</pagination><full_dataset_link>https://www.ebi.ac.uk/biostudies/studies/S-EPMC6036847</full_dataset_link><repository>biostudies-literature</repository><pubmed_title>COGEVIS: A New Scale to Evaluate Cognition in Patients with Visual Deficiency.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC6036847</pmcid><pubmed_authors>Stefano F</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Epelbaum S</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Bonte F</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Bertrand A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Migliaccio R</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Crevoisier J</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Bodaghi B</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Samri D</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Dubois B</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Meyniel C</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Delaby L</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Habert MO</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable><name>COGEVIS: A New Scale to Evaluate Cognition in Patients with Visual Deficiency.</name><description>We evaluated the cognitive status of visually impaired patients referred to low vision rehabilitation (LVR) based on a standard cognitive battery and a new evaluation tool, named the COGEVIS, which can be used to assess patients with severe visual deficits.
