Thinopyrum intermedium (2n = 6x = 42, StJ<sup>r</sup>J<sup>vs</sup>) is one of the most promising reservoirs of useful genes including tolerance to abiotic stresses, perenniality and disease resistance not available in the cultivated bread wheat.
