METHODS:A multicentre, observational and retrospective study was conducted of hospitalised patients with IE and/or BSI produced by GPC who received at least one dose of DBV. Clinical response was assessed during hospitalization, at 3 months and at 1 year. RESULTS:Eighty-three patients with median age of 73 years were enrolled; 73.5% were male; 59.04% had BSI and 49.04% IE (44.04% prosthetic valve IE, 32.4% native IE, 23.5% pacemaker lead). The most frequently isolated microorganism was Staphylococcus aureus in BSI (49</pubmed_abstract><journal>Annals of clinical microbiology and antimicrobials</journal><pagination>30</pagination><full_dataset_link>https://www.ebi.ac.uk/biostudies/studies/S-EPMC6800500</full_dataset_link><repository>biostudies-literature</repository><pubmed_title>DALBACEN cohort: dalbavancin as consolidation therapy in patients with endocarditis and/or bloodstream infection produced by gram-positive cocci.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC6800500</pmcid><pubmed_authors>Herrero C</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Sequera S</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Iftimie S</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Bereciartua E</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Munoz P</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Miro JM</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>De Jesus SE</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Fernandez-Roldan C</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Vinuesa D</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Farinas MC</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Martinez-Marcos FJ</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Hidalgo-Tenorio C</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Martin Davila P</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Loeches B</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Lopez-Cortes LE</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Pasquau J</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Plata A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Javier-Martinez R</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Arenas-Miras MDM</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable><name>DALBACEN cohort: dalbavancin as consolidation therapy in patients with endocarditis and/or bloodstream infection produced by gram-positive cocci.</name><description>OBJECTIVES:To analyse the effectiveness of dalbavancin (DBV) in clinical practice as consolidation therapy in patients with bloodstream infection (BSI) and/or infective endocarditis (IE) produced by gram-positive cocci (GPC), as well as its safety and pharmacoeconomic impact.
