Dibenzothiophene-based sulfilimines were shown to constitute a class of novel amidation reagents which enable the transfer of a wide range of N-sulfonyl and N-acyl moieties. It was demonstrated that sulfilimines, which are easily accessible from cheap reagents, are safe-to-handle and represent broadly applicable amidation reagents. The dibenzothiophene can be recycled after use. The C-H amidation was shown to proceed with high selectivity and gave the mono-amidated products, mostly in good to excellent yields.</pubmed_abstract><journal>Chemistry (Weinheim an der Bergstrasse, Germany)</journal><pagination>8235-8238</pagination><full_dataset_link>https://www.ebi.ac.uk/biostudies/studies/S-EPMC7383884</full_dataset_link><repository>biostudies-literature</repository><pubmed_title>Dibenzothiophenesulfilimines: A Convenient Approach to Intermolecular Rhodium-Catalysed C-H Amidation.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC7383884</pmcid><pubmed_authors>Mackenroth AV</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Mulks FF</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Helmchen G</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Rudolph M</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Antoni PW</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Hashmi ASK</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable><name>Dibenzothiophenesulfilimines: A Convenient Approach to Intermolecular Rhodium-Catalysed C-H Amidation.</name><description>A sulfilimine-based Group 9 transition-metal-catalysed C-H amidation procedure is reported.
