Although potentially life-saving, RRSO may induce symptoms that negatively affect quality of life and impair long-term health. Clinical care following RRSO is often suboptimal. This scoping review describes how RRSO affects short- and long-term health and provides evidence-based international consensus recommendations for care from preoperative counselling to long-term disease prevention. This includes the efficacy and safety of hormonal and non-hormonal treatments for vasomotor symptoms, sleep disturbance and sexual dysfunction and effective approaches to prevent bone and cardiovascular disease.</pubmed_abstract><journal>BJOG : an international journal of obstetrics and gynaecology</journal><pubmed_title>Care after premenopausal risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy in high-risk women: Scoping review and international consensus recommendations.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC7617419</pmcid><funding_grant_id>IS-BRC-1215-20007</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>NIHR300650</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>MC_UU_00004/01</funding_grant_id><pubmed_authors>Crosbie EJ</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Brood-van Zanten MMA</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Marchetti C</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Nebgen DR</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Menon U</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Kingsberg SA</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>da Silva Filho AL</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Evans DG</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Grandi G</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Kurian AW</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Paramanandam VS</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Guise T</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Guidozzi F</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Domchek SM</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Norquist BM</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Yuksel N</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Kotsopoulos J</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Rozenberg S</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Bober SL</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Johansen N</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Hickey M</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Brennan DJ</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>de Hullu JA</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Jacobson M</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Powell CB</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Pederson HJ</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Michaelson-Cohen R</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable><name>Care after premenopausal risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy in high-risk women: Scoping review and international consensus recommendations.</name><description>Women at high inherited risk of ovarian cancer are offered risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy (RRSO) from age 35 to 45 years.
