It affects all citrus species and cultivars regardless of the rootstock used, and despite intensive research in the last decades, there is no effective cure to control either the bacterial species (<i>Candidatus</i> Liberibacter spp.) or their insect vectors (<i>Diaphorina citri</i> and <i>Trioza erytreae</i>).
