A cross-sectional study was performed in Wuhan from April 3, 2020 to April 15, 2020. A total of 187 patients with confirmed severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) completed face-to-face interviews or telephone follow-ups. We found that the prevalence of olfactory and taste disorders was significantly lower in the Chinese cohort than in foreign COVID-19 cohorts. Females were more prone to olfactory and taste disorders. In some patients, olfactory and taste disorders precede other symptoms and can be used as early screening and warning signs.</pubmed_abstract><journal>Military Medical Research</journal><pubmed_title>A cross-sectional study of olfactory and taste disorders among COVID-19 patients in China.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC8435759</pmcid><funding_grant_id>81830064</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>81721092</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>2017YFC1103304</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>2017YFC1104701</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>81971841</funding_grant_id><pubmed_authors>Yu N</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Huang CC</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Chen RY</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Zhou XJ</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Yang CL</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>He JJ</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Liu Q</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Zhou FJ</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Fu XB</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Yuan H</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Sun Y</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Li MR</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Yang SM</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Li JH</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Zhang LB</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable><name>A cross-sectional study of olfactory and taste disorders among COVID-19 patients in China.</name><description>To determine the prevalence and clinical features of olfactory and taste disorders among coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients in China.
