ECM is made of a variety of proteins that provide structural support to the cells and regulate biological functions by modulating the cross talk among cells, thus effecting tumor growth and progression. In this mini-review, the author discusses epigenetic modifications that regulate the expression of fibrous ECM proteins and glycoproteins and the prospects of targeting them for cancer therapy."],"journal":["American journal of physiology.
