Whether this has been associated with delayed reperfusion and worse outcomes in French patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is unknown.
Aim
To compare the rate of STEMI admissions, treatment delays, and outcomes between the first peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in France and the equivalent period in 2019.
Methods
In this nationwide French survey, data from consecutive STEMI patients from 65 centres referred for urgent revascularization between 1 March and 31 May 2020, and between 1 March and 31 May 2019, were analysed. The primary outcome was a composite of in-hospital death or non-fatal mechanical complications of acute myocardial infarction.
"],"journal":["Archives of cardiovascular diseases"],"pagination":["340-351"],"full_dataset_link":["https://www.ebi.ac.uk/biostudies/studies/S-EPMC9056233"],"repository":["biostudies-literature"],"pubmed_title":["ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction: Management and association with prognosis during the COVID-19 pandemic in France."],"pmcid":["PMC9056233"],"pubmed_authors":["MODIF registry investigators","Bouisset F","Becker M","Bonello L","Duband B","Meneveau N","Lattuca B","Noirclerc N","Motreff P","Robin M","Zeitouni M","Juenin L","Semaan C","Martin AS","Isaaz K","Tirouvanziam A","Adjedj J","Uhry S","Boukantar M","Pansieri M","Bonnet G","Belle L","Kerneis M","Vignac M","Van Belle E","Chamandi C","Panagides V","Moussa K","Palermo V","Angoulvant D","Riviere N","Yvorel C","Khalife K","Vincent F","Benamer H","Cetran L","Lesizza P","Cayla G","Manchuelle A","Pamart T","Deney A","De Poli F"],"additional_accession":[]},"is_claimable":false,"name":"ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction: Management and association with prognosis during the COVID-19 pandemic in France.","description":"
Background
Systems of care have been challenged to control progression of the COVID-19 pandemic.
