Cousin marriages are very common in Pakistan so genetic studies help to establish protocols for screening, especially at the antenatal level. Factors behind the phenotypic variation of the severity of bleeding in type III vWD are largely unknown. The study was conducted to determine Mutations/genetic alterations in type III von Willebrand disease and also to determine the association of different mutations, methylation status, ITGA2B/B3 mutations and alloimmunization with the severity of type III vWD. After informed consent and detailed history of the patients, routine tests and DNA extraction from blood, mutational analysis was performed by Next Gene</pubmed_abstract><journal>Genes</journal><pubmed_title>Genetic Alterations, DNA Methylation, Alloantibodies and Phenotypic Heterogeneity in Type III von Willebrand Disease.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC9222927</pmcid><funding_grant_id>NRPU 2093</funding_grant_id><pubmed_authors>Amar A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Mohsin S</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Ali N</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Raza A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Khaliq S</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Saleem U</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Shakoor M</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Hassan Y</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Naveed MA</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Qamar K</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Hussain S</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Abid A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Javed A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Mustafa G</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable><name>Genetic Alterations, DNA Methylation, Alloantibodies and Phenotypic Heterogeneity in Type III von Willebrand Disease.</name><description>Type III von Willebrand disease is present in the Punjab province of Pakistan along with other inherited bleeding disorders like hemophilia.
