Previous analysis of well-studied kinetoplastids, the 'TriTryps' parasites &lt;i>Trypanosoma brucei&lt;/i>, &lt;i>Trypanosoma cruzi&lt;/i> and &lt;i>Leishmania&lt;/i> spp., identified within glycosomes other metabolic processes usually not present in peroxisomes.
