So far, MINTs have been synthesized using ring-closing metathesis, disulfide exchange reaction, H-bonding or direct threading with macrocycles. Here, we describe the encapsulation of single-walled carbon nanotubes within a palladium-based metallosquare. The formation of MINTs was confirmed by a variety of techniques, including high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. We find the making of these MINTs is remarkably sensitive to structural variations of the metallo-assemblies. When a metallosquare with a cavity of appropriate shape and size is used, the formation of the MINT proceeds successfully by both tem</pubmed_abstract><journal>Angewandte Chemie (International ed. in English)</journal><pubmed_title>Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes Encapsulated within Metallacycles.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC9544689</pmcid><funding_grant_id>MSCA-IF-2019-892667</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>CTQ2017-86060-P</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>PGC2018-093382-B-I00</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>PID2020-116661RB-I00</funding_grant_id><funding_grant_id>CEX2020-001039-S</funding_grant_id><pubmed_authors>Ibanez S</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Ruiz-Gonzalez L</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Perez EM</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Sabanes NM</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Lopez-Moreno A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Moreno-Da Silva S</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Peris E</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable><name>Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes Encapsulated within Metallacycles.</name><description>Mechanically interlocked derivatives of carbon nanotubes (MINTs) are interesting nanotube products since they show high stability without altering the carbon nanotube structure.
