In a retrospective observational study, we collected the data of ESRD patients on PD and identified the risk factors for mortality.
Results
Prior to the pandemic, 136 patients with ESRD were on peritoneal dialysis at our Institute. Among them, 27 (19.8%) eventually developed COVID-19, and 14 of them (51.8%) died. Serum albumin levels were lower and D-dimer levels were significantly higher in deceased patients than in survivors.
Discussion
The</pubmed_abstract><journal>Journal of nephrology</journal><full_dataset_link>https://www.ebi.ac.uk/biostudies/studies/S-EPMC9713098</full_dataset_link><repository>biostudies-literature</repository><pubmed_title>COVID-19 disease in peritoneal dialysis patients: a single centre experience from India.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC9713098</pmcid><pubmed_authors>Srilakshmi G</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Ram R</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Fahima S</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Mathini S</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Virali G</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Lakshmi PA</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Naveen K</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Christopher LM</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Vengamma B</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Hemalatha N</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Manuel MB</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Sindhu M</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Kumar NP</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Yagnapriya C</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Pravallika K</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Kumar VS</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Bhatt GG</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Sunnesh A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Rao GV</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Amarendra MR</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Alekhya B</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable>

Background
This study presents our data on mortality in end stage renal disease (ESRD) patients on peritoneal dialysis (PD) who developed COVID-19.
Materials and methods
Sri Padmavathi Medical College Hospital, Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences University, was designated the State COVID Hospital in March 2020.
