Since the publication of the potential use of ivermectin as a treatment against the disease, a pleiad of information about it has been published. However, the evidence is not strong or weak enough to conclude its usefulness in the clinical evolution of patients infected with SARS-CoV-2. We evaluate the efficacy and safety of ivermectin in the treatment of Mexican patients with asymptomatic and mild COVID-19 in a three-day administration in comparison to placebo.<h4>Methods</h4>A randomi</pubmed_abstract><journal>BMC infectious diseases</journal><pagination>917</pagination><full_dataset_link>https://www.ebi.ac.uk/biostudies/studies/S-EPMC9730611</full_dataset_link><repository>biostudies-literature</repository><pubmed_title>Ivermectin compared with placebo in the clinical course in Mexican patients with asymptomatic and mild COVID-19: a randomized clinical trial.</pubmed_title><pmcid>PMC9730611</pmcid><pubmed_authors>de la Rocha C</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Robles-Bojorquez JG</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Mercado-Sesma AR</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Vargas-Iniguez B</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Valderrabano-Roldan CG</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Tavares-Valdez A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Gomez-Mendez SC</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Gutierrez-Dieck GA</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Rosales-Galvan D</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Luna-Gudino N</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Milenkovic J</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Mendez-Del Villar M</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Hernandez-Puente CV</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Iglesias-Palomares C</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Venegas-Lopez BI</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Cid-Lopez MA</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Sanchez-Ortiz A</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Mercado-Cerda J</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Llamas-Velazquez RA</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Perez-Rios AM</pubmed_authors><pubmed_authors>Meza-Acuna AI</pubmed_authors></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable>

<h4>Background</h4>Despite the development and application of vaccines against Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) around the world, the scientific community is still trying to find some therapies to avoid or ameliorate the fatal evolution of the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
