In the Neotropical Region, its richness is certainly underestimated, mainly due to the large number of species and the absence of recent taxonomic revisions.<h4>New information</h4>We describe <i>Tabanusrondoniensis</i> sp. n. from the State of Rondônia, Brazil, based on a conspicuous tabanid species possibly related to the <i>T.nebulosus</i> species group.
