Sequence analysis determined that the virus is Yata virus (YATAV; <i>Ephemerovirus yata</i>; family <i>Rhabdoviridae</i>). The only previous reported isolation of YATAV was in 1969 in Birao, Central African Republic, also from <i>Ma. uniformis</i> mosquitoes.
