This discovery fundamentally redefines the canonical view of DICER substrate recognition, as it contrasts with the known uridine-favored (U-favored) pocket, which binds uridine, adenine, and cytosine while excluding guanosine. We demonstrate that these distinct G- and U-favored pockets govern the generation of 21-nt and 22-nt small RNAs, respectively, revealing a new layer of control in small RNA biogenesis","dates":{"publication":"2026/05/20"},"accession":"GSE296721","cross_references":{"GSM":["GSM8975290","GSM8975292","GSM8975291","GSM8975294","GSM8975293","GSM8975296","GSM8975295","GSM8975298","GSM8975297","GSM8975311","GSM8975310","GSM8975299","GSM8975306","GSM8975305","GSM8975308","GSM8975307","GSM8975309","GSM8975287","GSM8975286","GSM8975300","GSM8975289","GSM8975288","GSM8975302","GSM8975301","GSM8975304","GSM8975303"],"GPL":["33226"],"GSE":["296721"],"taxon":["synthetic RNA"],"PMID":["[41781616]"]}}
