It is known that in canine undescended testes expression of protein coding genes is massively up- or down-regulated and it is associated with certain epigenetic modifications. In the present study we aimed to compare expression profile of small non-coding RNAs (sncRNAs) in undescended (UD) and descended (D) testes. Undescended (UD) and descended (D) testes of unilateral, inguinal cryptorchid dogs (n=9), as well as scrotal testes of control dogs (C, n=8) were analyzed by small non-coding RNA sequencing (sncRNA-seq) approach. Comparison of UD and D testes revealed 224 differentially expressed miRNA (DEGs), with 118 meeting the criteria of FDR &lt; 0.05 and |log2FC| > 1.5 (8 up- and 110 downregulated). Similarly, comparison of UD and C testes identified 200 DEGs, with 102 meeting the same criteria (9 up- and 93 downregulated).</description><dates><publication>2026/06/08</publication></dates><accession>GSE308086</accession><cross_references><GSM>GSM9237686</GSM><GSM>GSM9237687</GSM><GSM>GSM9237684</GSM><GSM>GSM9237685</GSM><GSM>GSM9237682</GSM><GSM>GSM9237683</GSM><GSM>GSM9237680</GSM><GSM>GSM9237681</GSM><GSM>GSM9237688</GSM><GSM>GSM9237689</GSM><GSM>GSM9237690</GSM><GSM>GSM9237697</GSM><GSM>GSM9237675</GSM><GSM>GSM9237676</GSM><GSM>GSM9237673</GSM><GSM>GSM9237695</GSM><GSM>GSM9237696</GSM><GSM>GSM9237674</GSM><GSM>GSM9237693</GSM><GSM>GSM9237694</GSM><GSM>GSM9237672</GSM><GSM>GSM9237691</GSM><GSM>GSM9237692</GSM><GSM>GSM9237679</GSM><GSM>GSM9237677</GSM><GSM>GSM9237678</GSM><GPL>25760</GPL><GSE>308086</GSE><taxon>Canis lupus familiaris</taxon></cross_references></HashMap>
