Using single-cell RNA sequencing in permanent distal middle cerebral artery occlusion (dMCAO) and perioperative ischemic stroke (PIS) models, we elucidated the pathogenic role of intracellular cholesterol crystals. We identified a progressive accumulation of cholesterol crystals within peri-infarct microglia during the subacute phase, driven by a specific downregulation of the lipid-processing enzyme lipoprotein lipase (LPL).</description><dates><publication>2026/08/19</publication></dates><accession>GSE313515</accession><cross_references><GSM>GSM9369471</GSM><GSM>GSM9369472</GSM><GPL>28330</GPL><GSE>313515</GSE><taxon>Mus musculus</taxon><PMID>[42578421]</PMID></cross_references></HashMap>
