We developed SE-SPTM-PCR, a detection platform integrating selective miRNA enrichment using locked nucleic acid probes with specific probe terminal-mediated RT-qPCR. To evaluate the ability of the SE-SPTM-PCR platform to discriminate samples with only slight differences in load, we tested simulated specimens with two-fold serial dilutions using both SE-SPTM-PCR and miRNA sequencing. These simulated specimens were prepared by spiking HCMV viral culture supernatant (propagated in MRC5 cells) into plasma samples obtained from three groups of age- and sex-matched healthy donors (n=10 per group). The results demonstrated that the diagnostic performance of the SE-SPTM-PCR platform significantly outperformed that of miRNA sequencing.","dates":{"publication":"2026/03/04"},"accession":"GSE321693","cross_references":{"GSM":["GSM9549666","GSM9549688","GSM9549667","GSM9549689","GSM9549668","GSM9549669","GSM9549684","GSM9549663","GSM9549685","GSM9549664","GSM9549686","GSM9549687","GSM9549665","GSM9549680","GSM9549681","GSM9549682","GSM9549683","GSM9549677","GSM9549678","GSM9549679","GSM9549673","GSM9549674","GSM9549675","GSM9549676","GSM9549691","GSM9549692","GSM9549670","GSM9549671","GSM9549672","GSM9549690"],"GPL":["24676"],"GSE":["321693"],"taxon":["Homo sapiens"],"PMID":["[41839909]"]}}
