Here, we combined a novel behavioral phenotyping system with high-throughput gene expression profiling to examine how chronic stress and ketamine treatment interact over time. Bulk RNA sequencing was performed in the medial prefrontal cortex and ventral hippocampus, revealing a hierarchy-dependent transcriptional response with 141 differentially expressed genes in the medial prefrontal cortex of dominant, ketamine-treated mice, enriched in synaptic and postsynaptic compartments. These findings identify synaptic remodeling as a substrate for ketamine’s sustained antidepressant effects and underscore social rank as a critical factor when dissecting molecular responses to stress and treatment.</description><dates><publication>2026/07/29</publication></dates><accession>GSE325386</accession><cross_references><GSM>GSM9602162</GSM><GSM>GSM9602161</GSM><GSM>GSM9602164</GSM><GSM>GSM9602163</GSM><GSM>GSM9602160</GSM><GSM>GSM9602129</GSM><GSM>GSM9602126</GSM><GSM>GSM9602125</GSM><GSM>GSM9602169</GSM><GSM>GSM9602128</GSM><GSM>GSM9602127</GSM><GSM>GSM9602122</GSM><GSM>GSM9602166</GSM><GSM>GSM9602165</GSM><GSM>GSM9602121</GSM><GSM>GSM9602168</GSM><GSM>GSM9602124</GSM><GSM>GSM9602123</GSM><GSM>GSM9602167</GSM><GSM>GSM9602151</GSM><GSM>GSM9602195</GSM><GSM>GSM9602150</GSM><GSM>GSM9602194</GSM><GSM>GSM9602153</GSM><GSM>GSM9602197</GSM><GSM>GSM9602196</GSM><GSM>GSM9602152</GSM><GSM>GSM9602191</GSM><GSM>GSM9602190</GSM><GSM>GSM9602193</GSM><GSM>GSM9602192</GSM><GSM>GSM9602159</GSM><GSM>GSM9602158</GSM><GSM>GSM9602199</GSM><GSM>GSM9602155</GSM><GSM>GSM9602154</GSM><GSM>GSM9602198</GSM><GSM>GSM9602157</GSM><GSM>GSM9602156</GSM><GSM>GSM9602140</GSM><GSM>GSM9602184</GSM><GSM>GSM9602183</GSM><GSM>GSM9602142</GSM><GSM>GSM9602186</GSM><GSM>GSM9602185</GSM><GSM>GSM9602141</GSM><GSM>GSM9602180</GSM><GSM>GSM9602182</GSM><GSM>GSM9602181</GSM><GSM>GSM9602148</GSM><GSM>GSM9602147</GSM><GSM>GSM9602149</GSM><GSM>GSM9602188</GSM><GSM>GSM9602144</GSM><GSM>GSM9602143</GSM><GSM>GSM9602187</GSM><GSM>GSM9602146</GSM><GSM>GSM9602145</GSM><GSM>GSM9602189</GSM><GSM>GSM9602173</GSM><GSM>GSM9602172</GSM><GSM>GSM9602131</GSM><GSM>GSM9602175</GSM><GSM>GSM9602130</GSM><GSM>GSM9602174</GSM><GSM>GSM9602171</GSM><GSM>GSM9602170</GSM><GSM>GSM9602137</GSM><GSM>GSM9602136</GSM><GSM>GSM9602139</GSM><GSM>GSM9602138</GSM><GSM>GSM9602133</GSM><GSM>GSM9602177</GSM><GSM>GSM9602176</GSM><GSM>GSM9602132</GSM><GSM>GSM9602179</GSM><GSM>GSM9602135</GSM><GSM>GSM9602134</GSM><GSM>GSM9602178</GSM><GPL>34290</GPL><GSE>325386</GSE><taxon>Mus musculus</taxon><PMID>[42495548]</PMID></cross_references></HashMap>
