We performed single nucleus RNA sequencing (snRNA-seq) on the POA from adult C57BL/6J mice after 30-minutes of breathing either 1.2% isoflurane in oxygen or an oxygen control. Cell clusters were identified by projecting to the existing cellular taxonomy established in our previously published POA snRNA-seq dataset of recovery sleep (GEO: GSE243489) and transcriptional changes in rapid primary response genes (rPRGs) was used to define isoflurane-activated or isoflurane-inhibited clusters. Finally, multiplex fluorescence in situ hybridization was performed to independently corroborate the snRNA-seq results.","dates":{"publication":"2026/07/07"},"accession":"GSE337822","cross_references":{"GSM":["GSM9861028","GSM9861017","GSM9861027","GSM9861016","GSM9861015","GSM9861026","GSM9861025","GSM9861019","GSM9861018","GSM9861029","GSM9861031","GSM9861020","GSM9861030","GSM9861024","GSM9861023","GSM9861034","GSM9861033","GSM9861022","GSM9861021","GSM9861032"],"GPL":["24247"],"GSE":["337822"],"taxon":["Mus musculus"]}}
