Lysine lactylation (Kla) is a novel posttranslational modification, the examination of which may lead to new understanding of the nonmetabolic functions of lactate and the various physiological and pathological processes in which lactate is involved, such as infection, tumorigenesis and tumor development. Using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), researchers have identified lactylation in human gastric cancer cells and some other species, but no research on lactylation in human lungs has been reported. In this study, we performed global profiling of lactylation in human lungs under normal physiological conditions, and 724 Kla sites in 451 proteins were identified. After comparing the identified proteins with those reported in human lactylation datasets, 141 proteins that undergo lactylation were identified for the first time in this study. Our work expands the database on human lactylation and helps advance the study on lactylation function and regulation under physiological and pathological conditions."],"pubmed_title":["Global profiling of lysine lactylation in human lungs."],"pubmed_authors":["Yang Ye-Hong YH, Wang Qiao-Chu QC, Kong Jie J, Yang Jun-Tao JT, Liu Jiang-Feng JF"],"pubmed_abstract_synonyms":["liquid chromatography tandem mass spectroscopy, Cognitive Function, Post Translational Amino Acid Modification, L-Lactic Acid, posttranslational modification, single-organism developmental process, Activity, Lysine Hydrochloride, Laboratory, postnatal development, 2-Hydroxy-, Pb, Infestations and Infections, D-Lactic Acid, growth and development, protein, Tumor, Protein Processing, Stomach Neoplasms, malignant fundus of stomach neoplasm, Long Term, NEOPL STOMACH, Oxygen Deficiencies, Readability, Lysine Acetate, malignant neoplasm of fundus of stomach, Familial Diffuse, pulmones, 2, lungs pair, Research Activity, tumor of the stomach, gastric fundus cancer, gastric neoplasm, Laboratory Research, Effect, Formal Social Controls, L Lysine, Priorities, Post-Translational Protein, average, posttranslational amino acid modification, LCMSMS, Man (Taxonomy), K, Post-Translational, Personnel, 2-Hydroxypropionic Acid, epsilon-diaminocaproic acid, Oncogeneses, proteins, Posttranslational Protein Processing, L Lactic Acid, Social, malignant neoplasm of body of stomach, Oxygen, Cognitions, LYS, Functions, malignant tumour of fundus of stomach, Lysin, Malignancies, Infections and Infestations, Research Priority, Cancer of the Stomach, Long-Term Effects, Ca body -
