Cold water samples were collected from the water outlet of a drinking water treatment plant and from the water inlet of two neighboring buildings, warm water samples (ca 37 degrees C) were taken from showers within the two buildings: one building with a copper-silver-ionization-system to disinfect the water, the other building without such a system. Biofilms were taken from shower hoses within the two buildings.DNA from water samples was extracted using the PowerWater(R) Sterivex(TM) DNA isolation kit from MoBio laboratories, DNA from biofilm samples was extracted with using the FastDNA(TM) Spin kit for soil (MP BIO). For each sample, three independent PCR reactions were run, the products mixed and sequenced with Illumina MiSeq. Sequences provided were merged with MOIRA v1.3.0 without quality filtering, and de-multiplexed with mothur v.1.36.1.ENAWater, Bottled, Potable Water, Potable, bacteria, Eubacteria, Ribosomal DNA, Bacteria <bacteria>, Drinking, Prokaryotae, prokaryote, rDNA, prokaryotes, study., fungi, Procaryotae, eubacteria, Biofilm, Bottled Water, Monera, Prokaryotasoufre, Elemental sulfur, S, sulphur, 16S., Schwefel, azufre, sulfur, theion0.00.00.00.00.00falseLDS2015_16SBacteria in drinking water and biofilms (16S rDNA amplicon study)2018-02-282018-02-28PRJEB2225729461810256318449393718308
