Despite the historical proximity between Brazil and Africa and in particular, slave trade, no case of TB being caused by MAF has been reported in Brazil. We hereby describe the first patient with TB caused by this species in the country.ENAComplete Genome Sequencing, Genome Sequencing, Complete, Mycobacteria, Complete Genome, Whole Genome, Whole, Sequencing, Mycobacterium Lehmann and Neumann 1896 (Approved Lists 1980).strain, Bacillus tuberculosis, Bacterium tuberculosis, cultivar, ecotype., variable, Mycobacterium tuberculosis variant tuberculosis, Mycobacterium tuberculosis var. hominis, Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv, Mycobacterium tuberculosis typus humanus0.00.00.00.00.0falseMycobacterium tuberculosis variant africanum strain:MAFBRA00707Whole Genome Sequencing of Mycobacterium africanum reported in Brazil2022-05-122020-07-25PRJNA53467433894
