CARASIL is hereditary CSVD caused by loss of HTRA1 protease activity. HTRA1-KO mice accumulated matrisome proteins with fibronectin as a central hub in the intima, and the mice exhibited reduced cerebral blood flow. Candesartan normalized fibronectin accumulation and cerebral blood flow. Our results indicate that arteriopathy in HTRA1-KO mice is due to the accumulation of matrisome proteins with fibronectin as a central hub in the intima, suggesting that these accumulated matrisome proteins may be potential therapeutic targets for CARASIL."],"repository":["ENA"],"description_synonyms":["3.4.22.-, \"disease of artery [Ambiguous]\" EXACT [SNOMEDCT_2005_07_31:77735004], arterial disorder, CV-11974, disease or disorder of artery, Laboratory, Mus domesticus, CASP14, mouse, \"Arterial disease\" EXACT [SNOMEDCT_2005_07_31:155413007], cerebrovascular disease with thin skin, ARMD7, mini-ICE, CASP-14, with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy, HtrA, and Disc Disease, House Mouse, \"Arterial disease\" EXACT [SNOMEDCT_2005_07_31:266317000], disease of artery, House, Mus, PRSS11, cerebral arteriopathy, Cerebrovascular Disease with Thin Skin, Maeda syndrome, Mini-ICE, 2-ethoxy-1-((2'-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)(1, Progressive, Mus musculus domesticus, Nemoto Disease, Alopecia, 2-ethoxy-7-carboxy-1-(2'-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl-4-yl)methylbenzimidazole, alopecia, \"Arteriopath\" EXACT [SNOMEDCT_2005_07_31:39823006], Mice, Mus musculus., \"disorder of artery [Ambiguous]\" EXACT [SNOMEDCT_2005_07_31:271948001], and disk disease, autosomal recessive, 2-ethoxy-1-(p-(o-1H-tetrazol-5-ylphenyl)benzyl)-7-benzimidazolecarboxylic acid, Mus musculus, Subcortical Vascular Encephalopathy, CARASIL, 1'-biphenyl)-4-yl)methyl)-1H-benzimidazole-7-carboxylic acid, Caspase-14 subunit p10, Swiss, MAEDA Syndrome, mice, 2-ethoxy-1-{[2'-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl-4ethyl]}-1H-benzimidazole-7-carboxylic acid, \"disorder of artery (disorder)\" EXACT [SNOMEDCT_2005_07_31:359557001], Swiss Mouse, \"disorder of artery\" EXACT [SNOMEDCT_2005_07_31:359560008], House Mice, Swiss Mice, Caspase-14 subunit p19, arteriopathy, MICE, 2-ethoxy-1-{[2'-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl-4-yl]methyl}-1H-benzimidazole-7-carboxylic acid, Laboratory Mice, domesticus, CV 11974, Cerebral autosomal recessive arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy, Familial Young-Adult-Onset Arteriosclerotic Leukoencephalopathy with Alopecia and Lumbago without Arterial Hypertension, \"Arterial disorder\" EXACT [NCI2004_11_17:C35317], Blopress, and disc disease, subcortical vascular encephalopathy, CV11974, artery disease, arterial disease, L56, Mouse, progressive, \"Arterial disease\" EXACT [SNOMEDCT_2005_07_31:367395004], ORF480, Laboratory Mouse, disorder of artery, artery disease or disorder"],"name_synonyms":["Mus musculus, Laboratory Mice., House, Mus, Laboratory, Swiss, Mus domesticus, mouse, Mus musculus domesticus, Swiss Mouse, mouse <Mus musculus>, Mouse, House Mice, Swiss Mice, house mouse, Mice, Laboratory Mouse, House Mouse, mice C57BL/6xCBA/CaJ hybrid, domesticus, Mus muscaris"],"additional_accession":[]},"is_claimable":false,"name":"Mus musculus","description":"Candesartan prevents the progression of arteriopathy in CARASIL model mice.","dates":{"last_updated":"2025-09-24","first_public":"2021-11-22"},"accession":"PRJDB10757","cross_references":{"taxon":["10090"]}}
