In Trypanosoma brucei and related kinetoplastids, responses to internal and external signals are mainly mediated by post-transcriptional processes. Here we used proximity-dependent biotin identification (BioID) combined with RNA-seq to investigate the changes resulting from ectopic expression of RBP10 and RBP9, two developmentally regulated RNA-binding proteins (RBPs). Both RBPs have reduced expression in insect procyclic forms (PCFs) compared to bloodstream forms (BSFs). Upon overexpression in PCFs, both proteins were recruited to cytoplasmic foci, co-localizing with the processing body marker SCD6. Further both RBPs altered the transcriptome from a PCF- to a BSF-like pattern."],"repository":["ENA"],"name_synonyms":["rbp, RPABC5, RRM10, RPB10beta, RPB7.6, RBP9-2, CG3151, RPB10, Effects, Longterm, rbp9, Rbp10, Longterm Effect, Rpb9, fes, hRPB7.6, Long-Term, rrm9, CG15402, DmelCG3151, RBP10, Long Term, Longterm Effects, ectopic., fs(2)B, mislocalized, RRM9, Long Term Effects, Long-Term Effect, rrm10, Effect, Long-Term Effects, rbp9a, RBP9"],"description_synonyms":["rbp, RPABC5, ds RNA-Binding, ds RNA-Binding Protein, RRM10, Trypanosoma brucei subgroup, RPB10beta, RPB7.6, RBP9-2, Trypanosoma brucei bruceus, CG3151, RPB10, RNA-Binding Proteins, rbp9, Rbp10, ds, Double Stranded RNA Binding Protein, Trypanosoma bruceus, Rpb9, fes, Trypanosoma (Trypanozoon) brucei, hRPB7.6, Double-Stranded, rrm9, CG15402, Trypanosoma brucei., DmelCG3151, Trypanosoma brucei, RBP10, ds RNA Binding Protein, Trypanosoma, Double-Stranded RNA-Binding Protein, fs(2)B, Double Stranded RNA Binding Proteins, RRM9, brucei brucei, ds RNA-Binding Proteins, Double-Stranded RNA-Binding Proteins, Protein, bruceus, rrm10, RNA Binding Protein, brucei, Double-Stranded RNA-Binding, rbp9a, RNA-Binding Protein, RNA Binding Proteins, RBP9"],"additional_accession":[]},"is_claimable":false,"name":"RBP9-RBP10 time lapse ectopic expression PCF","description":"Characterization of RBP9 and RBP10, two developmentally regulated RNA-binding proteins in Trypanosoma brucei.","dates":{"last_updated":"2016-05-25","first_public":"2016-07-21"},"accession":"PRJEB14125","cross_references":{}}
