The most feared complication is prosthetic joint infection, which occurs more often following revision surgery. Staphylococci are the most prevalent bacteria in PJIs, although many other pathogens have been reported. We describe a case of PJI in a 75 year old farmer following revision surgery, caused by Corynebacterium striatum, an unusual agent which normally occurs in the normal hu-man skin microbiota with perceived low pathogenicity.</long_description><tag>xref:EuropePMC:PMC10051730</tag><repository>ENA</repository><description_synonyms>Xydalba, MDL-64397, joint, joints, articulation, VER-001, Bacterium striatum, BI 397, 397, CG4216, Infestations and Infections, Infection and Infestation, Zeven, clinical infection, ter, Infestation and Infection, DmelCG4216, Bsg75C, Term, Joint, articular joint, MDL 64, Infection, Dalvance, BI-397, Infections and Infestations, BI397., A-A-1 antibiotic, VER001</description_synonyms></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable><name></name><description>Corynebacterium striatum prosthetic joint infection successfully treated with long-term dalbavancin</description><dates><last_updated>2023-02-10</last_updated><first_public>2023-02-10</first_public></dates><accession>PRJEB59823</accession><cross_references/></HashMap>
