The herd consisted of five animals (2 lactating buffaloes, 1 heifer and 2 calves). Other animals of herd were healthy and without any clinical signs. The inspected heifer recovered after a few days. In order to identify the causative agent, vaginal lesion sample using vaginal swab was subjected to initial screening by PCR . Following PCR confirmation, the virus was isolated from the vaginal swab inducing a cytopathic effect in MDBK cells.
