<HashMap><database>ENA</database><scores/><additional><omics_type>Genomics</omics_type><center_name>Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes</center_name><full_dataset_link>https://www.ebi.ac.uk/ena/browser/view/PRJNA1027138</full_dataset_link><scientific_name>Bubaline alphaherpesvirus 1</scientific_name><long_description>In June 2021, a disease suspected of Herpes virus infection with clinical manifestation of diffused pustular vulvovaginitis was reported in a 2 years old Murrah buffalo heifer in the Chhani Badi village, Hanumangarh, Rajasthan of India. The herd consisted of five animals (2 lactating buffaloes, 1 heifer and 2 calves). Other animals of herd were healthy and without any clinical signs. The inspected heifer recovered after a few days. In order to identify the causative agent, vaginal lesion sample using vaginal swab was subjected to initial screening by PCR . Following PCR confirmation, the virus was isolated from the vaginal swab inducing a cytopathic effect in MDBK cells.
