The entire mitochondrial genome of O. sativa ssp japonica has been sequenced. It was found to be 490,520 bp in size with an average G+C content of 43.8%. Analysis of the genome indicates frequent DNA sequence flow to and from the mitochondrial genome during the evolution of flowering plants.</long_description><repository>ENA</repository></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable><name>Oryza sativa Japonica Group strain:Nipponbare</name><description>mitochondrial genome sequence</description><dates><last_updated>2025-09-24</last_updated><first_public>2013-05-31</first_public></dates><accession>PRJNA12269</accession><cross_references><taxon>39947</taxon><PubMed>12471441</PubMed></cross_references></HashMap>
