To elucidate the functional role of Ataxin-2 on target-binding, we have knocked down or overexpressed Ataxin-2 in HEK293T cells and extracted RNAs 48 hrs after transfection. Then, these total RNAs were subjected to whole transcripts microarray analysis to examine how the perturbation of Ataxin-2 expression affects target gene expression. Overall design: Ataxin-2 was either knocked down using siRNA or overexpressed using the expression construct of Halo-Ataxin-2.Control siRNA was transfected as a control of knockdown experiment. The expression construct of Halo-tag alone was used as a control of overexpression experiment. Forty-eight hrs after transfection, total RNAs were extracted and subjected to microarray analysis."],"repository":["ENA"],"description_synonyms":["Atx-2, Ataxin-2, SCA2, Materials, Genetic, determination, Material, Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 2 Protein, Atx 2 Protein, SCA2 Protein, chemical analysis, Protein, Ataxin 2 Protein, Ataxin 2, ATXN2 Protein, Ataxin-2 Protein, ATXN2, Genetic Materials, Cistron, Gene, assay, Genetic Material., Cistrons, Atx-2 Protein"],"name_synonyms":["Human, Modern., human being, Man (Taxonomy), Homo sapiens, man, Man, human, Modern Man"],"additional_accession":[]},"is_claimable":false,"name":"Homo sapiens","description":"Analysis of the expression of Ataxin-2-target genes","dates":{"last_updated":"2025-09-24","first_public":"2014-06-22"},"accession":"PRJNA231072","cross_references":{"GEO":["GSE53189"],"taxon":["9606"],"PubMed":["24954906"]}}
